I was speaking at a recovery event. Talking about the loss of my son Tony. The loss of a child is an incredible pain. Nicole walked up to me after I was done speaking and said, “Thank you for sharing your story and your pain. Do you have a photo of your son?” I said, “I do.” She said, “I would love to paint a portrait of him if you would like.” I immediately said, “yes”. But what I thought would be a portrait of my son was actually an image of his soul. Nicole had not only captured his image, but she captured the essence of his soul. And for that I am eternally grateful. There are no words to thank her enough.
